"Winston" Large Desk

The "Winston" desk from Les Ateliers Vau Fontaine doesn't leave anyone indifferent. Its size, shape, quality of execution and a few small details make it an exceptional piece of furniture for large spaces. On the top, inlaid elm wood lines to emphasize the crossing of the two large tops, and edges beveled at 25°. Under the top, flush drawer in walnut and elm, dovetail joinery, and adjacent, a small secret compartment, completely invisible and opening via a pressure mechanism, as can be found in Louis XVI secretary desks. A signature of the master cabinetmakers' expertise of the era, in which the aristocracy hid correspondence or compromising documents!
